MANILA, Philippines - It only took P150 to pick a fight and win the top prize. That’s the registration fee paid by the participants of the recently concluded Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion National Tournament did last Sept. 12 at the TriNoma Cinema Lobby.
After an earlier pre-finals beat-‘em-up at 12 participating Timezone branches, the remaining qualified fighters slugged it out for five hours between 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the National Finals in full view of a wildly cheering crowd in the TriNoma Cinema Lobby. The event was hosted by Patricia Malay and was also graced by celebrity babe, LJ Reyes.
With his amazing reflexes, knockout blows and dazzling combo moves, Jeffrey Jordan Gonzales from Timezone Market! Market! outlasted last year’s winner, Carlo Racela from Timezone Eastwood, along with 22 other finalists to take home the top prize consisting of a round-trip ticket to New Zealand with hotel accommodation and a chance to represent the country in the Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion International Finals on Oct. 25, 2009.
In addition to fighting the good Tekken fight at the Armageddon Expo in Auckland, New Zealand, Jeffrey also won a slew of prizes that included $500 pocket money for his upcoming trip, P10,000 worth of Timezone Gift certificates, an Apple iPod Touch, a Tekken CD, album and binder, a Zeemote, a trophy and other special prizes from participating sponsors like Ayala Malls, Pepsi, Zeemote, Intercontinental Manila, Pizza Pedrico’s and Hotshots Flame-Grilled Burgers.
