MANILA, Philippines - Emblem/Atlantic recording artist Rob Thomas has released his second solo album, titled “Cradlesong,” which features the first single, Her Diamonds.
Once again produced by Matt Serletic, “Cradlesong” is the eagerly anticipated follow-up to Thomas’ 2005 solo debut “Something To Be.”
“I like musical hybrids,” says Thomas about the musical direction of the new album. “Like, ‘What would it sound like if we took Prince’s drummer and mixed him with really amazing Nashville players?’ I like to take everyone just left of their comfort zone and record it.”
One of the most distinctive vocalists and accomplished songwriters in contemporary music, Thomas has earned a string of accolades — both for his work as lead singer and primary composer with Matchbox Twenty as well as for his solo work and collaborations with other artists. In 2004, the Songwriters Hall of Fame presented Thomas with its premiere Starlight Award — created to recognize a songwriter in the early years of his or her career who has already made a lasting impact. He has won numerous BMI and ASCAP Awards, and has earned the Songwriter of the Year crown from both Billboard and BMI.
The first single from “Cradlesong” is Her Diamonds. The album is available at leading record stores under Warner Music Philippines.
