ROBBIE CARMONA

What characteristic does one need to be a model?

A top model should be equipped with the right attitude. She must learn how to explore her different looks and create her own style.

PAULINE SUACO-JUAN

How does one prepare to be a model?

Learn as much as you can. One has to be open, willing to learn and disciplined. Look, listen and absorb. Try always to top your previous shoot and dress the part. In this business, dressing up means you care.

VINCE UY

Does size really matter in modeling?

Unfortunately, yes, if you want to be a top model, and no for someone who just wants to be a model.

XANDER ANGELES

Who is your top model icon?

Christy Turlington, because she is the epitome of elegance.

Dancing to the groove
Nokia, together with MTV Philippines, served up soulful deep house music played live and loud. From the moment Manila’s party people stepped into the NBC Tent, they knew that it was going to be a night of non-stop dancing and groove. The live and refreshing performance of Tortured Soul took the party to the limit with "live soulful house music," fusing jazz, funk and soul influences with electronic beats. Using traditional band instruments as the canvas for their music, the sound reaching our ears was nothing less than infectious.

CAMILLE OCAMPO

What do people have to say about your taste in music?

Diverse. I listen to everything from Frank Sinatra to The Doors to John Legend to Tortured Soul.

MARK ESCUETA

What was the last song that gave you "last-song syndrome"?

My last LSS episode was courtesy of Aia de Leon and Imago. I first heard their song Sundo live in Saguijo last year and recently on super-direk Marie Jamora’s YouTube video.

JESSICA DUQUE-CABUAY

How do you uphold your love for local music?

Even when in the States where I live, my friends send me CDs and digital files of our local bands and artists, which I upload into my iPod. Listening to them makes me less homesick.

NILES CHONG

What are the songs that you can’t keep yourself from grooving and dancing to?

Chicosci’s The Devil Made Me Do It and Up Dharma Down’s The World Is Our Playground. The former is pop punk at its most infectious and the latter is pure slow-mo bliss at its most seductive.
