Makeup magic

We garnered the help of some of the top makeup lines and artists in the country to let us in on what the latest looks are for the season. Think bold and colorful or pink and innocent. Grab your brushes, take your seat in front of the mirror and get ready to play.
Gold rush
Despite the rains, a golden bronze is still undeniably in. Let eyes pop out on a healthy bronze face by playing with gold eye shadow. Work the gold color well into the inner crease of the eyes, while using a smoky taupe color on the outer corners. A healthy brush of bronze and a golden gloss like Nars Stolen Kisses help create the perfect luminous look for day or night.
Vinyl pout
Lips rich in color and shine play a key role in this look. Instead of leaving the eyes neutral, turn heads by making them sultry and dark. Smoky shadow and heavy contouring help create this perfect evening look. Don’t be afraid to play with dark colors, but be sure to use complementary contouring eye shades like Lancôme Exceptional Wear Eyecolour Duo in Suntouched and Mochaccino so you can avoid looking like an ’80s flashback.
Pink innocence
Think clean, young, and pink with a grown-up twist. A light blush and equally light pink tint on the lips play nicely with shimmery purple, yellow and silver eyes. Blend the purple closest to the eyelid and highlight the brow bone with yellow-flecked eye shadow while a dash of silver highlight is placed on the outer corners. Blend well and brush on an all-over shimmer like Guerlain’s Meteorites Powder for the face to give the skin a healthy glow.
