Smells like money

Metrobank Card Corporation (MCC) celebrated its 20th anniversary with special guests at the Metrobank Plaza Auditorium, despite heavy rains. The program opened with an eye-catching revue of MCC’s beginnings. Garbed in traditional ‘80s attire, the senior officers revealed their dancing talents. The evening’s highlight was undoubtedly the search for the MCC Idol. After weeks of grueling schedules and voice lessons, the company’s fantastic finalists, Honey de Castro, Chelo Pili and Cheryl Walo were awarded trophies and cash prizes. The show’s finale featured grand champion Alvie Erog-erog capturing the audience’s attention with her singing prowess.

With the exemplary support of each employee during the event, Metrobank Card Corporation confidently looks forward to the next 20 years.

Aloy Alday

Would you rather have a large credit limit or a dozen credit cards?

I’d rather have a large credit limit. It’d be harder to juggle a handful of credit cards.

Anne Young

What’s the most lavish expense you’d charge to your credit card?

A trip to New York with my son James for the holidays would be a great experience.

Vivian Tiu

Would you trust your credit card extension to your husband?

Of course, because I do all the paying.

Tito Garcia

At what age would you extend your credit card to your kid?

When they’re mature and responsible. I don’t think it has anything to do with age. It’s an assessment you make individually.

Cindy Valenzuela

What would be the best gift that you could purchase for yourself using your credit card?

A romantic holiday with my husband so we could spend more time together.

Jim Dixon

How do you discipline yourself when purchasing with a credit card?

I let my wife do the shopping. She’s a lot better at the purchasing game than I am. She’s a prudent shopper, which is lucky for me.

Angie Dy Buncio

Would you rather have a credit card with unlimited credit or a diamond ring?

Unlimited credit, because I could buy more than just a diamond ring. I could get a house, a car, anything.

Poch Villareal

What do you usually purchase with your credit card?

I’m an avid Amazon.com buyer. I buy my books there, but I especially like buying CDs from the ’60s and ’70s. It brings me back to my youth.

Peter Schiesser

Can you judge a person’s buying habits by the number of his credit cards?

A superior shopper would be a person who carries a good credit card, even if it’s just one.

Bernard Lapuz

What would impress you more when you see a person’s wallet: thick wads of money or a dozen credit cards?

A dozen credit cards of course, as long as they’re all platinum and from Metrobank.

Rolly Rodriguez

If you could meet the credit card’s inventor, what would you say to him?

I’d complain about all the shopping my wife does! But seriously, I’d really like to be able to pick his brain and ask him what inspired him to turn a piece of plastic into money.

It was a night of whimsical youth and enchantment. Olivia is back with the launch of the new fragrance I Love Love by Moschino Cheap & Chic! The Embassy at The Fort took on an arrestingly romantic look with welcoming Cupids at the entrance, a jester amusing the guests, and hosts Kat Alano and JM Rodriguez wooing the crowd in their medieval attire. People witnessed the unveiling of Olivia, the face behind the fragrance. Between Brent Javier’s poetry reading, the rumba dancers, and the showcasing of love mementos, it was hard to miss the heavy mist of love in the air. Young and old alike partied to the ageless tunes of The Bloomfields. Just goes to show what love fools we all still are.

Jeanne Frances Chua

How would you customize your credit card?

I’d design my card with platinum studs to make it even flashier.

Kitten Samaniego

What would be the greatest advantage to having a credit card?

Convenience. It’s a great help for impulse shopping.

Vicky Tensuan

How did you know your partner was the one?

I’m my happiest, most real self when I’m with him.

Sam Oh

What is your first love story?

A PLDT paramour that makes me smile and cringe at the same time.

Wella Khonghun

Do you believe in happy endings?

There’s no such thing as a happy ending, because nothing really ends.

Kat Alano

How do you know you’re in love?

When I tell someone I love them for the first time, I cry – because I’m so happy.

Lily Chu

Have you ever been in love with love?

Yes, I have and perhaps too often. Don’t we all just want a little inspiration to brighten up our day? It’s what makes falling in love with love so easy.

Bianca King

Does scent play a role in romance?

When you smell the scent of the person, even when you’re not with him, that means something’s brewing.
