Dance with my baby!

D.U.I. is dancing under the influence – under the spell of different music genres played by Absinth resident and guest DJs. Mounted for one spectacular evening as a major dance event, Absinth regulars were on an all-night dance marathon. Three rooms with four DJs and an array of talented performers like the Hairy Dawgs and Boracay Firedancers provided a multi-sensory experience.

Since Absinth was too small to contain the event’s energy, the empty space beside it (formerly Kidd Creole) was designed for dancing. Absinth was converted to the smoking and VIP room called the Velvet Lounge where members could enjoy an open bar and sisha pipes to the cool sounds of BPM. DJ Cao played the hottest house tracks. The best and hottest hiphop and Rnb tunes were being played at the other room by DJs Kimosave and JD with MC Duane. The Hairy Dawgs, an awesome percussion band, played up-beat performances alongside DJ Patch.

What was the first song you listened to on your iPod?

The Indian national anthem because I was feeling very nationalistic!

Kate Torralba

What was the first thing that caught your eye tonight?

The Firedancers. They’re quite a spectacle! I didn’t get too close though, because my dress might catch fire.

Doty Benedicto

Who was the first person you had a drink with in Absinth?

Joey Mead because she is my best friend!

Danielle Faber

What music will you play to invite your crush to dance with you?

Reggae, since that’s music we can get real close to while dancing.

Camille Rodriguez

Do you actually dance or move with the music?

Good music should not be treated nonchalantly. You must allow your soul to inspire you to move with it.

Lilo Gutierez

Aside from your drink tonight, what else can you share with your friends?

Myself!

Angela De Vera

What songs were you listening to while preparing for tonight?

John Creamer and Stephane K ‘s Love is a drug because it sets the tone for the evening – deep, dark, and crazy.

Bamba Lilim

How do you convince the bouncer to give you free entrance to Absinth?

I 'll tell her that I'll get her a hot date.
