KC Montero and Michi Valeriano: Reel Love Match

Destiny, soulmates, writings on the stars, and love at first sight. These are just a few of the many hocus-pocus theories a ridiculously numerous amount of love slaves out there adhere to with all their hearts and souls. Foolish, it may seem, but at some point in everyone’s life, one begins to wonder whether all that so-called magic truly exists. If not, then is it just an illusion most, if not all of us choose to believe in during those cold and lonely nights? Or has the human psyche been designed to live by the notion that there is some supernatural force out there that binds two beings together at a certain point and time of one’s life. So let’s get down to the bottom line—during our pre-birth celestial lives, could there have been a pre-destined mate for each one of us or as the cliché often goes, do we make our own destiny?

Many have been set-up for blind dates that turn into traumatic, snooze worthy experiences or meet beautiful strangers in clubs only to find out that they are, for the lack of a better term, creeps. Unlike the good old days when you can easily snag the love of you life with the mere bat of your perfectly curled lashes, contemporary match making have fallen victim to the vast possibilities technology has to offer. Now, love happens not under the stars, but through the net, text, and TV. Would it be fair to say that even the very human issue of love has lost its personal touch? Well, perhaps getting personal with TV’s match making duo, KC Montero and Michi Valerianio could give us a whole new perspective in matters of the heart. So let’s play Match TV, only this time; our veteran matchmakers play searcher and searchee. Are you ready for this one?

Searchee#1: Michi Valeriano

She’s what you would call your everyday cowgirl, up for anything, anytime. "I know how to be friends with men. Plus, I’m neither fussy nor high-maintenance," says Michi as she sips on her café mocha wearing a plain tee, comfortable jeans, and not a pinch of makeup on her face. A definite toughie in this bumpy road called love and commitment, Michi is one ever ready and reliable gal who could weather any terrain or storm, long distance relationships included. "People think I come on too strong that it more often than not intimidates others," she describes of herself. Her co-host KC is quick to add, " Michi is much like a book. As the saying goes, you can’t judge a book by its cover." Sure enough, beneath that all-steel surface lies a romantic interior. Her idea of a perfect match, she shares, "is someone who I can grow old with. We’d spend a day at the beach—jetskiing, snorkeling, long walks, pina coladas, a beautiful sunset, and a wonderful dinner. What happens after that is none of your business." Well, with a pretty face like hers and dynamic character to match, it comes as no surprise that any guy would go through great lengths just to see that Michi Valeriano signature smile.

Searcher #1:KC Montero

"I’m bigger than your average bear." These are the very exact words used by KC as he described himself in the area of love and relationships. His partner, Michi adds, "Yeah I heard, but you’ll have to confirm that with him." Big bear or not, this carefree heartthrob, despite his knack for humor and candid camera moments, can also get seriously sentimental. "As a partner, I think I’m very much like a dog. Dogs are loyal, protective, hairy, and they can do amazing stunts with their tongues," he frames of himself with a somewhat mischievous look on his boyish face. Always the happy-go-lucky and go-get-’em fellow, KC is the type to walk up to someone and ask her out in an instant provided that a great personality, sense of adventure, and nice legs are in sight. But don’t get any crazy ideas run through your heads just about yet. As he moves on to more intimate matters, KC shares, " Romantic would be breakfast in bed, lunch in a lodge, play in the snow under the afternoon sun, dinner, and hit the hot tub for some drinks." Indeed, this is one breath-taking scene that would could make the creators of romance flicks like Mad Love and Crazy Beautiful think twice about their next projects. Cinematic and almost dream-like, yes. But this ain’t a movie; this is KC Montero on matters of the heart in real life.
