MANILA, Philippines - Heirloom Szechuan cuisine prepared by guest chefs from mainland China, real American ingredients flown from across the Pacific and festive Bavarian tunes and flavors at The Café at Hyatt City of Dreams Manila.
From Hyatt Regency Chongqing, chef Zhang Xiangyang and chef Wu Tiantan prepare authentic Szechuan dishes, including traditional beef tongue and tripe, poached grouper in hot chilli sauce, wok-fried shredded pork loin with sweet and sour sauce, wok-fried lobster in hot chilli sauce and crispy chicken with numbing pepper, chilies and peanuts.
Until Sept. 6 as part of the restaurant’s buffet.
In cooperation with the US Department of Agriculture and the, Foreign Agricultural Service of the embassy of the United States, the hotel’s culinary team present premium US meats, grains and wines. Guest chef Jay McCarthy, the award-winning corporate chef of Group970 restaurants in Colorado’s Vail Valley, will oversee The Café’s open-theater kitchens from Sept. 12 to 20, at the lunch and dinner buffet stations.
And from Oct. 8 to 11, get merry with the Bavarian tradition of Oktoberfest as The Café is transformed into a holiday pub overflowing with beer, bar chow and music from the traditional oompah band Die Dorf Fest Kapelle.
