Dusit Thani cited for sustainability efforts

MANILA, Philippines - For the fourth consecutive year, Dusit Thani Manila’s environmental and social sustainability efforts have been recognized by EarthCheck, earning the hotel the silver certification from the international tourism and environmental management advisory body.

The 537-room hotel has developed a unique and entirely sustainable system that incorporates environment-friendly measures with their world-class amenities and concessionaires.

Among EarthCheck’s globally recognized principles that Dusit Thani Manila has adapted are energy efficiency and conservation, management of fresh water resources, ecosystem conservation and management, management of social and cultural issues, wastewater and solid waste management, proper handling and storage of Earth-friendly and chemical substances, and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Additionally, Dusit Thani Manila also focuses its efforts on corporate social responsibilities which include fostering self-empowerment among employees and consistently providing assistance to Operation Smile, a foundation that provides free reconstructive surgery to children with cleft palate and other facial deformities.
