Shangri-La’s Mactan names sales, marketing director

MANILA, Philippines - Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa, Cebu has announced the appointment of Albert Lafuente as director of sales and marketing.

A returning member of the Shangri-La family, Lafuente is well attuned to the deluxe resort and the heartfelt service that is the hallmark of Shangri-La.

A seasoned hotelier with over 20 years of experience in the industry, Lafuente first joined Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa, Cebu in 2004 as director of sales. 

In 2008, he moved up to the Shangri-La group’s regional sales office in Singapore as director of business development, where he drove top-line revenue by managing principal accounts in India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

Having held key executive roles in many hotels and resorts across the globe, Lafuente brings to his position a wealth of expertise in luxury hospitality.

As a member of the hotel’s Executive Committee, he will lead the marketing, revenue management and strategic direction of the tropical paradise.

Prior to his homecoming, Lafuente had held significant sales and marketing posts in Indonesia and Vietnam.
