‘Visita Iglesia’ features Laguna churches

MANILA, Philippines - The beautiful and age-old churches of Laguna are the attractions in Budget Travel’s Visita Iglesia 2014 pilgrimage scheduled for Maundy Thursday, April 17. 

The whole-day tour, which starts at 6 a.m. from Plaza Raha Sulayman (fronting Malate Church), takes pilgrims to the churches of Paete, Lumban, Pagsanjan, Magdalena, Liliw, Nagcarlan and Pakil. 

The 14 Stations of the Cross will be completed during the tour, and the prayer for two stations per church will be led by the pilgrimage escort from a religious order, and a brief on the historical and cultural details of each church will be given by the tour leader from the agency.  Before returning to Manila, the air-conditioned bus will stop in Los Baños for some shopping time.

The affordable tour price includes a full lunch with beverage in a popular Pagsanjan restaurant, two bottles of cold mineral water, a native fan, and travel insurance. A senior citizen’s discount is also available. One free ticket is given to any group of 10 full-paying pilgrims.
