AirAsia to launch first Asian route from Clark to KL

CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga, Philippines – Low-cost carrier AirAsia is launching here its first Asian route with regular flights to Kuala Lumpur with a one-way promo fare of P799.

“We are excited to announce that in the next few weeks, we will start operating our first regional route. Business travelers and overseas Filipino workers will welcome this new service while it provides tourists with exciting choices,” AirAsia Inc. CEO Maan Hontiveros said.

To commemorate the launch, AirAsia is offering until May 13 an “all-in” promo fare of P799 for Clark-Kuala Lumpur trips from June 9 to Nov. 30.

“The flights will enable Filipinos to have access to Malaysia’s awesome tourist destinations as well as to draw tourists from Malaysia to our amazing beaches and natural wonders in Puerto Princesa, Kalibo and Davao,” Hontiveros said.

She said AirAsia will operate the new route with a brand-new Airbus A320. AirAsia Inc. is a 60-40 joint venture between Filipino investors Antonio Cojuangco, Michael Romero and Hontiveros, and Malaysia’s AirAsia International Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of AirAsia Berhad, which SkyTrax has named best low-cost airline for three consecutive years. AirAsia’s all-in fare includes base fare, fuel surcharge, processing fee and government-mandated fees such as aviation security fee and VAT. It is available online at www.airasia.com and also via mobile at mobile.airasia.com as well as via AirAsia apps for BlackBerry, iPhone and Android phones.
