MANILA, Philippines - The Palawan provincial government, in partnership with the Palawan Tourism Council, is presenting a two-day exhibit at the heart of Makati, the country’s financial center.
Billed as “Visit Palawan Expo,” the event kicks off today at Glorietta 3 Park, Covered Tent, Ayala Center.
Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Durano in the invited guest speaker in today’s opening ceremony.
Palawan Gov. Joel Reyes says, “We are very excited with this exhibit because we are bringing Palawan right at the heart of the country’s business and financial center, Makati City.”
“This is our way of making the business community and the private sector become more aware of the country’s tropical paradise called Palawan, its fabulous tourism destinations, and its growing tourism industry,” he adds.
Jeanny Española, the event organizer and coordinator, says the expo brings together under one roof the key tourism players in the country’s last ecological frontier, including those in the travel and tours and accommodation sectors.
“This promotional event is in anticipation of the influx of domestic and foreign tourists traveling to the country. We also want to provide the business community with more options in terms of tourism destinations, for those planning their business conferences or office and family vacation trips,” Reyes says.
Among the participating resorts are El Nido Resorts, Dive Link, Club Paradise, Dos Palmas, and Crystal Paradise in Aborlan.
Also taking part are SEAIR, Island Paradise Travel and Tours, Legend Hotels, 7107 Islands Cruise, the Calamianes Association of Tourism Establishments and the Provincial Tourism Office.
Exhibit hours are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
