On Feb. 21 Inscribe Tours will have a tour to the province of Cavite and Tagaytay. “Captivating Cavite Tour” starts with breakfast at Malen’s in Noveleta, a restaurant noted for a menu with history trivia, such as menudo ricarte, kaldereta ni Sakay, garlic pizza ni Tandang Sora, Filibustero, etc. From Noveleta, the tour goes to Imus for a return visit to Don Roberto’s wine-making facility. A brief talk by president Roberto Castañeda on the history of wine from the Philippines will be followed by wine tasting. Next destination is singer Kuh Ledesma’s Hacienda Isabella in Indang for lunch amid the garden and old-world charm. After lunch, the tour moves to Amadeo, considered the coffee capital of the Philippines and the pilot town for the National Coffee Development Program started a few years ago. Coinciding with the town’s annual Pahimis Festival, participants will be taken on a tour of a successful “Adopt a Farm” coffee plantation and also an organic farm. A native merienda at Amadeo’s Balete Falls Resort and shopping for pasalubong — coffee, tablea, fruits, vegetables and other products cap the visit to the town. Last stop is jazz singer Richard Merck and wife Roni’s Merck’s Café at the 8 Suites in Barangay Iruhin, Tagaytay overlooking Taal Lake for dinner.
