Buy some art at Art Mart

MANILA, Philippines - Many of us are still reeling from the incredible pieces we saw at Art Fair Philippines, and we’re sure that most of the attendees wish that it could go on forever. Art in the Park is still a month away, but BGC is controlling art hysteria by holding Art Mart BGC. Held every Friday and Saturday of February, artists and galleries will be showing and selling their work, from paintings to prints, stickers, postcards, and other pieces. Some of the artists involved are Jin Joson, Aaron Felizmenio, Spidersilk Productions, and Gunship Revolution. Art Mart BGC happens at High Street, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Watch Stars

You don’t need to worry about not catching Stars at Coachella this year, because they’re performing a one-night-only gig tonight at the Alpha Tent, Alphaland Southgate Tower. The pop indie band is known for their electronic-pop and rock-based music, which has been alternately described as beautiful and eloquent. Their music is a mix of love and melancholia, which their latest album “The North” offers in large amounts. According to Pitchfork, the album is unforced “while conjuring the ghosts of past glories” and “it unspools pleasantly and unhurriedly.” It sounds like a heady mix, but if you’re up for a night of chilling out to good music, then you better head your way to Alphaland to catch some Stars.

Celebrate music and art at Senpaga

If a livelier party is more your thing, head on over to BGC tonight for Rock in Focus: Senpaga, an independent music and arts festival featuring Taken By Cars, Tarsius, and Techy Romantics. But the sonic orgasm doesn’t stop there, as Tonight We Sleep, Extrapolation, The Butchercons, Idioms and Dispositions, Nights of Rizal, The Dead Quiet, With Fingers Crossed, Tide/Edit, and Sheepsarahsleep are also performing. A live art performance will be held by Chichimonster to underscore the music. The festival will happen at the open grounds on 34th Street cor. 9th Avenue, and will start at 7 p.m.

Watch the night sky light up with the Pyromusical

The annual Philippine International Pyromusical competition is kicking off its first round of explosions tonight at the SM Mall of Asia Seaside Boulevard at 7 p.m. with Japan and Finland as its first contenders. As usual, the night skies of Manila Bay will be lit with the most vivid colors and styles of the world’s best pyrotechnics experts. The competition will be held every Saturday until March 23, and will feature Japan, Finland, Taiwan, Spain, the UK, South Korea, Italy, the Netherlands, China, Australia, and Canada. On March 23, the Philippines will hold a closing exhibition to prove that baby, we’re a firework.
