Singapore moments

MANILA, Philippines - From family-friendly attractions to adrenaline-pumping events and shopping and dining experiences that fulfill Filipinos’ delight, Singapore comes to life this holiday season. Among the city-state’s attractions are the iconic Gardens By The Bay, a Christmas light-up of beautiful Orchard Road, and the world’s largest oceanarium, Marine Life Park.

It’s this variety of offerings that makes local celebs Rovilson Fernandez, Tweetie de Leon-Gonzalez and Stephanie Kienle-Gonzalez all regular visitors of Singapore.

For TV host Rovilson, Singapore has been a go-to weekend destination for him and his friends. Recently, he visited the city in time for Formula One season. “Singapore has become a regular destination for me and my friends. September is always particularly exciting as I always look forward to going back during the race season… Whether it’s a special party where I can mingle with fellow racing enthusiasts or the concerts at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, I know that me and my friends will never have to worry about keeping ourselves entertained while in Singapore,” Rovilson says.

For mother of four Tweetie, Singapore is a choice destination for her family this coming holiday season. “As a mother, traveling with four growing kids definitely takes a lot of coordination and management — which is why I appreciate how family-friendly a destination Singapore is, because not only can I expect my kids to have a good time in Singapore — with Sentosa alone offering so many exciting activities and attractions for my kids like Universal Studios, The Wavehouse, iFly or the MegaZip — but my husband and I can find activities that appeal to us grown-ups as well, whether it’s enjoying the many attractions that Sentosa offers, or just leisurely perusing the shops along Orchard Road, or the restaurants along Clarke Quay,” says Tweetie.

Married just last year and clearly still enjoying her role as a new wife to businessman husband Christian, Stephanie Kienle-Gonzalez has always had a special place for Singapore in her heart. “Christian and I have so many wonderful memories of Singapore as a couple. We celebrated our engagement last September at Santi’s restaurant at Marina Bay Sands with our family and a few of our closest friends and it was really a night to remember for all of us — the food and service were exceptional, the ambience was perfect and we were surrounded by our loved ones. We couldn’t ask for a better celebration of our engagement. Now that we’re married, we’ll visit Singapore during the Christmas Light-Up to soak in the festivities and feel the warmth and love of Christmas, so we can make more happy memories there,” says Stephanie.

Indeed, Singapore is a destination able to offer plenty of bonding moments for everyone. So to make the season brighter, the Singapore Tourism Board has launched its year-round online photo contest entitled “Share Your Singapore Moments.” Starting this November, monthly contest themes will be announced on Singapore Tourism Board’s Facebook page, YourSingaporePhilippines, and one lucky winner every month will walk away with a special Singapore item.
