The poet in Puey

There’s something deeply poetic in every image you see on this Supreme page. Connecting the dots between two masters in their fields, you get a straight line that defies geometric visual definitions. What you get is profound beauty, which makes you pause and ponder.

But Puey Quiñones has always been about that. Whether creating art pieces with fabric, teaching Bilibid boys the finer points of design, or simply just being himself, Puey effortlessly makes a statement. Paint splattered, rouched, layered or ruffled, he sprinkles each piece with a whimsy that those without strong sartorial senses do not dare possess. And possessed one becomes after wearing a Puey piece.

Add master lensman Mark Nicdao to the equation and what do you get? A tribute to the masters. Nicdao is best known for his colored treasure trove of images that flood our billboards, magazine covers and advertising campaigns. Hands down, he is the most in-demand and most requested photographer in the country today. Still, he makes time for art projects such as “Puey’s First Exhibit at Members Only.” Nothing thrills the creative mind than the excitement of a productive collaboration.

When the electric meets the eccentric, the resulting images reflect a state of calm. The energy is palpable — restrained even — yet the quietness of it all speaks more volumes, louder than a quick, colorful thud.

The journey is ongoing but what is the vision? The horizon, what else?
