MANILA, Philippines - In the movie Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy, I saw many things I thought I would only see in my favorite comedy movies. The tedious task of changing from one role to another and making it look easy, I thought, could be done only by the comedy greats like Jerry Lewis, Eddie Murphy, Michael Keaton and Jim Carrey. Well, now we can add Vice Ganda to that prestigious list.
Vice Ganda outdid himself — I mean themselves — with an amazing performance playing four different characters without even breaking a sweat.
Being a big fan of this kind of movie, I looked carefully at every stop-motion split-screen special effect scene and saw nothing but smooth, imported-movie-level transitions.
The humor and the adlibs delivered by Vice Ganda made me a bigger fan and believer in him than I already was. My every emotion was tested and tried four times over.
Vice’s acting and comic timing, together with the flawless editing, made this movie as timeless as Swatch. No matter when, no matter what, it will always be a classic.
The legend says that, one day, the great Buddha invited all animals to celebrate in his kingdom. Twelve animals came. And to honor them, the great Buddha created the 12-year cycle. Each year represents an animal and it is believed by many that trait characteristics of a particular year influence events and people of that year.
It is the ninth year that Swatch has created a watch to celebrate Chinese astrology. The first was for the Year of the Dog. Then came the Pig, Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake and, this year, the Horse.
A calendar of surprise activities with a Swatch twist are planned for the year of the Horse which begins on Jan. 31. The kickoff was a private screening of Vice Ganda’s super blockbuster Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy.
Vice was born an Aries Dragon but because of his 5’11†slim frame, long limbs and sunken cheeks, he is proud to say he is a Dragon Horse and has the traits of being a daring and determined free spirit with a lot of brains, charm and honesty thrown in.
His eight star tattoos tell the story of his many outstanding achievements. As a child, he learned that your hand was stamped with a star when you did something very good.
