H. Stern’s noble shade of gold

MANILA, Philippines - Gold, the most sought after among metals, presents itself in an unheard-of version, an intermediate shade between the white and the yellow. Named “noble gold,” this variety was developed by H. Stern in two years of research, and first launched it in 2001. “The color is fantastic; it combines with everything. It can be used with other shades of gold and any type of clothing,” says Roberto Stern, president and creative director of H. Stern Jewelers.

Pure gold is a very malleable metal. A ring, for instance, could lose shape with a simple handshake. Therefore, the use of gold in jewelry requires a complement of other metals, such as copper, silver and palladium, to confer hardness. These alloys obey international standards, classified by the designations 14K, 18K or 24K (the higher the number, the bigger the gold content). The shade that has been launched by H. Stern exhales the warmth of yellow gold allied to the elegance of white gold. The alloy and the exact proportions of its ingredients are a top-secret.

The color of gold reminds us of family jewelry, but the design is contemporary. The particles of the old and the new fit together harmoniously, resulting in contemporary pieces of jewelry. Noble gold jewelry works with pieces in other gold shades, such as white, yellow or pink gold. The different colors and styles create a beautiful effect.

Two years of research and over 180 metal combinations were needed to reach the adequate shade. And all these efforts were worthwhile –– noble gold is already a success and can be seen in many iconic H. Stern collections such as Stars and Golden Stones.
