The Miss Universe beauty pageant kept me at the edge of my seat as I cheered, prayed and waited for the final decision. Shamcey Supsup’s answer got the affirmative nod from most of our countrymen. Even if she didn’t bring home the Miss Universe crown, in our hearts she is a winner.
Marina Benipayo, self-growth/behavior management consultant instructor at SOFA (School of Fashion & Arts)
Shamcey was very eloquent in her delivery of her answer — everyone saw how truthful she was as she spoke about what she believed in. I will always think of her as a beautiful, brave soul who showed a high level of wit and mental preparedness. She was excellent.
Avel Bacudio, fashion designer
Shamcey you are an exemplary Filipina, a humanitarian. I would like to thank your parents for bringing you up with the fear of the Lord and with love for our country. You are not only beautiful outside but you are truly beautiful inside.
Peejo Pilar, Men’s Health Magazine
You performed beautifully in the Miss Universe pageant.
Arnold Vegafria, ALV Productions
My wish for Shamcey is for her to be the Philippines’ ambassador of goodwill. She’s very smart, articulate and doesn’t buckle under pressure. She is the epitome of the modern Filipina: one that is God-fearing and with good moral values. She has the making of a very good talk-show host and I’m sure she’ll be in the limelight for a pretty long time.
Gem Padilla–Thomas, triathlete, former Bb. Pilipinas Universe candidate
You represented your fellow Filipinos well. You’re strong and unafraid. You’re smart and have a good grasp of what is right. I hope you stay the way you are.
Grace Molina, model, fashion director
I loved her answer! I admire her beauty, brains, personal conviction and character. She represented our country very well, being the biggest Christian nation in Asia, by standing by her faith.
Patty Betita, businesswoman
Shamcey, you represented the Philippines so well that night. I was proud to be a Filipino again! I was shaking and could not eat until I heard you make it to the top 16. I believe you deserved to be Miss Universe, or at the very least, first runner-up. I know it’s not easy being judged on the world stage, but you did great.
Yayo Martinez, actress
You make each and every Filipino proud! You are the epitome of beauty and brains.
Norrie Fernandez, educator
For her to continue her love for God, for her to share that love with the Filipino people, for her to remain as a model Filipina idolized by many especially the younger generation, and for her to keep a positive outlook in life.
Jackie Aquino, director
You were spontaneous and true to your heart. A true Pinay. I admire how you blossomed and came out of your shell and made all Pinoys so proud.
