MANILA, Philippines - It was an evening for bonding with friends, finding warmth in nostalgic stories, savoring good food and listening to soothing music when friends of Tina Cuevas honored her with a birthday dinner at The Lobby of Peninsula Manila.
Tina was a resident of Barcelona, Spain for 20 years before she finally decided to move back to her beloved Manila last year. Coupled with this patriotic decision was her sense of duty to family. Tina, who took an interior design course in Spain and was in the business of importing and exporting furniture, was tasked by her father Felimon Cuevas to give a new look to Sulo Hotel, a Quezon City landmark which was previously owned by the Enriquez family. The creative and hardworking Tina has transformed Sulo into a beautiful boutique hotel, giving it a modern character.More projects are lined up for her.
Tina took a break from work to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones. From The Pen Lobby, the hosts, honorees and guests proceeded to Salon de Ning where retail scion-singer Bea Tantoco dedicated a song to Tina. The evening ended with a birthday cake, the blowing of candles and a wish. Tina’s birthday wish? ”Secret,” the glam hotelier smiled.
