MANILA, Philippines - Aspiring rock band Light of Luna from Nueva Ecija was chosen Red Horse Beer Muziklaban Rock Challenge champion.
The winning band, composed of Jhunter Alejandro (vocals/guitar), Alvin Perez (bass guitar) and Charlie Sin (drums), romped off with total winnings of P1 million, P500,000 of which represents the tax-free cash prize while the remaining prize money covers a one-year endorsement contract with Red Horse Beer and exposure in the brand’s year-long nationwide tours.
Light of Luna, an experimental rock band formed in 2005, extends its appreciation to the country’s leading strong beer brand for being their gateway to bigger opportunities and to a bigger audience. Their passion for music, which they describe as “a fusion of dark and light music based on their individual life experiences,” finally bore fruit after getting the collective nod of esteemed celebrity judges Reg Rubio and Audz Avenido of Greyhoundz, Ian Tayao of Wilabaliw, Mally Paraguya of P.O.T., Bel Sayson of the Music Source and 6Underground and Brian Velasco of Razorback.
Red Horse Beer Muziklaban also featured performances from Manny Pacquiao, Arnel Pineda, Pepe Smith, Isabel Daza, Jericho Rosales, the Magalona kids, Greyhoundz, Slapshock, Brownman Revival and past Muziklaban winners, in honor of the late Francis Magalona.
The event was co-presented by Francis M Clothing Company.
