We’ve all had days where we did nothing but watch TV, catching up on an entire season of our favorite shows. Then there are those shows that we religiously watch week after week. We asked people what keeps them glued to their TV sets and these are their shows.
Divine M. Lee, VP, sales and marketing, Globe Asiatique Realty Holdings Corp.
I enjoy a lot of series for my TV entertainment. I always watch Vampire Diaries, Glee and Gossip Girl. I like these shows because they’re light and entertaining. But what I really love to catch nightly is the Suze Orman Show since I’m an economics graduate and I love how she is able to communicate financial advice and economic principles to help with the daily lives of her viewers and the public. I also love how she is so straightforward with her answers.

My favorite TV show is The Nanny because it brings back memories of a fun and opulent era: the big hair, disco fashion and the music of yesteryear. It’s a very funny show that even children of this era can relate to. It’s wholesome, entertaining and very empowering for women as well. In this time of war and apathy it’s a comfort and relief to watch a show that is light, optimistic and positive. It’s my equivalent to comfort food because it’s a show I grew up with and still enjoy watching when I like to lift my spirits up.
Cat Arambulo, fashion director, Channel V Phils.
A foreign show that I enjoy watching is E! News. It has the hottest entertainment stories, trends and celebrity interviews every day. Locally, I like watching [V] Life, which features noted and larger-than-life personalities that work hard to stay on top of their game, but also enjoy the perks of their hard-earned success. It’s basically a show that showcases a person’s “HIS-story” and enviable lifestyle. I like these shows because I love learning about new things and learning from other people. These shows sometimes inspire me but more often than not, they allow me to appreciate my life and keep my feet on the ground.

My favorite local TV show is would be Mornings at ANC because it keeps me updated on the news at the start of the day. I’m not into foreign series; I do my watching on DVDs.
Vina C. Monasterio, owner, Karma Athletics
My favorite show now is Glee. I am so into this series because of the music they feature. It’s the music of my generation but done with a twist. I can’t sing or dance but watching the show makes me believe that I can perform like them, even if only for an hour!
Nando Pahati, businessman
Flash Forward because I’m hooked on the unique plotline. I always eagerly await next week’s episode. It has interesting characters, and it entertains me a lot, which is what I look for in a series.
Teddy Dario, businessman
My favorite TV shows right now are the mini-series The Pacific, CSI (all versions), and Glee. I like watching The Pacific because I’m a history major and I’ve loved watching war movies and documentaries ever since I was a young kid. CSI also brings out the amateur private sleuth in me, and I watch Glee because it’s my daughters’ favorite TV show and I like watching and singing with them on a weekly basis.

I tune in to ANC. In the morning I catch the tailend of UKG, then Headstart to catch the interview, then at night to catch the news. So corny. My fave now is Glee, but I get the DVD.
