MANILA, Philippines – In celebration of its second anniversary, Town & Country heads north of the archipelago to capture Ilocos Norte through the eyes of Irene Araneta, who graces the cover of this month’s issue.
Ironically, Irene herself had a lot to learn about Ilocos Norte. Whenever the family was in Ilocos in the past, they were in “campaign mode,” as Irene puts it. “We were so used to it coming at us,” she tells Town & Country, remembering the meetings, the gatherings and all the other official engagements that brought them to the region, which left little time for them to truly explore their own hometown.
In the September issue of Town & Country, Irene shares the story of rediscovering her hometown and her mission to preserve its “historical legacy and cultural narrative through its surviving artifacts and endangered arts, crafts and traditions.”
Town & Country also reveals the results of this year’s Luxury Survey, an annual poll conducted “to gain a better appreciation of [its] target market’s wants and desires.” This year’s Tastemaker Panel includes Chary Aboitiz, Roberta Feliciano, Margarita Fores, Johnny Litton, Teodoro Locsin Jr., Isa Lorenzo, Tats Manahan, Lizzie Zobel and more.
As the premiere lifestyle magazine marks its second year in Philippine shores, editor-in-chief Monique Villonco says, “We take pleasure in reassuring our readers and advertisers that as Town & Country grows more emboldened in the way it presents itself, we are also more resolved to preserve its uniqueness.”
The second anniversary special of Town & Country is now available at newsstands, bookstores and supermarkets nationwide.
