The Swatch @ 25: Cool as Ice Party at Greenbelt 5 was a happy reunion for the many Swatch stylish and fun people in the country.
A bountiful feast of authentic Swiss and contemporary European food and drinks were enjoyed by everyone. Warm home-brewed mulled wine, which is a traditional Christmas drink in cold countries, welcomed the guests. For the teetotalers, canarino and mint tisane were served. Free-flowing champagne was served from ice buckets carved from blocks of ice. Bunderfliesch, which is air-dried beef from the Swiss Alps, and raclette cheese were the highlights of the carving station. An exotic chocolate fondue paired with anchovies, chili peppers, and olives was there for the adventurous.
Scene-stealers were two two Alaskan malamutes, Nike, a six-year-old male and Kona, a four-year-old female from Ottawa, Canada. Proud owners Jojo Isorena, a certified canine training and behavior specialist, and Tina Isorena, owner of Sushi Graphics, said they wanted Nike and Kona to accessorize with Swatch, except that each of them would need four Swatch watches to fit their massive necks.
The very cool evening celebration directed by exceptional Swatch director Rowell Santiago ended with the blowing of silver candles on a multi-tiered cupcake tower. And people shopped ‘til they dropped!
