Rajo Laurel, Nix Alanon and Allegra

What do you get when you put two super powerhouses of style together? An equally stylish dog! Meet Allegra, the fabulous Pomeranian princess of fashion designer Rajo Laurel and interior designer Nix Alañon.

Busy making the world more beautiful, Nix has been doing projects for his firm FTA Design and his furniture and lifestyle brand PhoeNix Home. “My design firm is busy doing projects both residential and commercial, while we also supply furniture for them aside from my store in Crossings Department Store. I have just finished doing model units for SM Land and opened restaurants in the new wing of Shangri-La Mall. We are also launching a new furniture collection for PhoeNix Home in a few weeks, just in time for the holidays.”

Rajo, on the other hand, is also busy beautifying people with his stunning collections for his pret-à-porter brand House of Laurel, namely for the upcoming holiday season. “I am also working on something really exciting, which I will be announcing soon. My second clothing brand? Maybe. Apart from this we are also busy with my uniform line and we have also just recently inked new deals with hotels and other establishments in and out of the Philippines.”

As if his plate wasn’t full enough he has just branched out into lifestyle products aimed to make the mundane special.  â€œI just launched a collaboration with National Book Store, which I am very happy about. Notebooks, pens, iPhone cases, and bags, just to name a few.”

Nix has always been an animal lover and grew up around dogs. “We both knew at some point that we were getting a dog and we were just waiting for the right moment to do this.”

Their choice of Allegra was rather providential. During a trip to Palawan, they met another traveling couple whom they spent much of their time with in the newly opened resort.

“They told us their dog had just given birth a week ago. We both looked at each other and said we would get her once we got back to Manila, and the rest, as they say, is history.”

PHILIPPINE STAR: Describe yourself in three words.

ALLEGRA (Pomeranian, two years old): Sweet, spoiled and feisty!

Describe your relationship with your humans. What do you guys like to do together? How do you get to spend time with each other?

We like to snuggle! I usually greet them by the door when they get in from a whole day’s work and I always pee a little out of excitement once I see them. They drop their bags and lie in bed and this will be my cue to jump on their chests and give them my tightest doggie hugs and endless kisses!

Name one time you got into major trouble and how you got out of it.

Well, I once ate a bar of chocolate while they were sleeping and I felt perfectly normal until they woke up. They saw the nearly empty pack of chocolate and they had to take me to the vet, where they had to pump my stomach. I really felt okay, like nothing was wrong, but I guess they love me so much they got worried. I was never allowed to be near anything chocolate after that.

What’s a typical day like for you?

I wait for my humans to wake up, then Daddy Nix brings me to work until my nanny comes to pick me up at 1 in his office. I do an afternoon siesta at home and wake up around 4:30 a. m. to take a walk around Rockwell with my nanny and get an afternoon snack in House of Laurel. I go home around 6:30 a. m. where I will be waiting, cross-pawed, by the door until my humans come home.

What are your fave hobbies?

Beauty sleep, playing with all my toys, walking around parks and getting a suntan by the window.

You live in a powerhouse of style! Between fashion and interiors, you are always surrounded by beautiful things. Is there a fave place in your home you like the most?

I like my bed — wait, I can’t decide which one because I have so many!

You are a natural in front of the camera! Any tips you can give us other doggies on posing?

Well, smizing doesn’t usually work for our kind. (Believe me, I have tried many times and I always watch my Ninong Robby Carmona’s shows) Just look straight at the camera and put your ears up for the money shot! Humans always like that!

Your fave food? And if you could have anything in the world, even forbidden stuff, what would be your ultimate meal?

French fries! Nothing gets me more excited than French fries!

Describe your dream vacation and where would it be.

Go to Japan and wear all the anime costumes that I could ever dream of! I always watch them on YouTube!

What would be your ultimate happy moment?

To meet the love of my life, Boo.

1. They like to sleep in.

2. They bring work home, which annoys me, because that’s my “me” time.
