MANILA, Philippines - The newly crowned Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach gave the pep talk we all need to be motivated this 2016.

"Keep your faith, fight for what you believe in and hold on to your dreams! They do come true!" exclaims Wurtzbach on her Instagram post.

Few hours after the New Year's eve revelry in the Philippines, Wurtzbach took to Instagram to post a message of gratitude to the people who helped her succeed in the 64th Miss Universe pageant and a message to inspire Filipinos to work hard, pray harder and believe in their dreams.

According to Wurtzbach, it was a long journey for her but God did not fail to grant her wish.

"You found a way. I trained well & despite all the challenges, everything fell into place and I finally got the crown the whole country has been waiting for for 42 years. It is true. Focus on the ordinary and God will take care of the extraordinary," shares Wurtzbach.

As many of you know, Wurtzbach has taken three attempts before finally making it to the Miss Universe pageant.

"It was a proud yet humbling experience. And now as I continue on with my journey as Miss Universe, I hope I inspired you all," she said.

Wurtzbach won the most controversial Miss Universe pageant after host Steve Harvey initially crowned the wrong winner Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez on live television. Harvey eventually took back the crown to give it to the rightful queen after realizing his mistake.

Wurtzbach is currently in New York performing her Miss Universe duties.
