MANILA, Philippines - The heavy rainfall did not dampen the spirit of those who participated at the University of the Phillippines Lantern Parade.

With an enthusiastic crowd amplified by the gleaming lights, this year's parade with the theme "Dingas: Adhikaing Diliman, Adhikaing Bayan"  was beyond delight.

Yesterday's event was different from the previous parade, since it was the first time dogs joined the activity.

The College of Engineering's entry which included  an "Oblation" figure with a radiating heart bagged the first prize.

It was followed by the "sarimanok"-inspired float by College of Architecture and UP National College of Public Administration and Governance which carried a large sun.
