The Society for Cultural Enrichment, Inc. (SCEI), headed by chairman Angola Consul Helen Ong and vice chairman Dr. Jimmy Laya, recently held a charity event entitled Easter Parade 2018, organized by event co-chairs Eni Alba and Maila Garcia-King and showcasing the stunning works of fashion designer Amir Sali. Hailing from Zamboanga City, Amir worked as the couturier for one of the princesses of Saudi Arabia and upon returning to the Philippines, he decided to give back to his community by employing as beaders many fishermen who have lost their livelihood due to old age. He was the ideal partner for the SCEI, an organization that does its fair share of philanthropy as supports children who dream of pursuing the arts, funds after school programs and public school field trips to local ballets and musicals.
