MANILA, Philippines - Rising from the ranks in the BPO industry does not come easy, nor is it without its perks. Vincent Larang, 32, started out as an agent and worked his way up to his current position as internal and external marketing manager for one of the more established BPOs in the country.
Vincent initially shared a place with a couple of friends but decided to get one of his own. “It’s not practical that I’m paying for something that I don’t own. And we’ve been doing that for about five years,†he explains. “I’m earning enough to actually invest on something. So I decided to try and check out the (available) condos. At that time, condos were starting to be more affordable...and with Pag-Ibig it was more convenient.â€
Since he was working in Makati, he started to scout for a condo unit within the area but found the rates much too high. He found that CDC Holdings Inc. was pre-selling at its Sta. Ana development situated along the historic and scenic Pasig River, the Manila Rivercity Residences.
With his work location being a prime consideration, Vincent clocked the travel time to Makati. “It’s convenient and the price difference was really big,†he says. “It’s a good thing that we were able to locate this kind of investment.â€
“I think what I like about the layout of this is wala siyang division. I was given the freedom to think of what I can do the interior...the look, from the tiling to the paint, for all the lighting,†Vincent recalls. “And the good thing about it is the (square) shape. Because of that, it’s easier to play with the space, unlike that of the rectangular ones.â€
Passionate about his new home, he researched on interior design and read up on space-saving techniques and was able to plan the division of his bedroom from his living/dining area. “It’s not really big but I can read. I can walk around. I can accommodate people. So if I have visitors I still have my room,†he muses.
Vincent’s favorite space in his unit, not surprisingly, is his bedroom. He works really hard and usually on extended hours due to the nature of his profession. He relishes the weekends and, at times, just spends it inside his bedroom to make up for the long hours.
Being in proximity to the busiest economic centers of Makati, San Juan, Mandaluyong and Manila and highly-accessible through private and public transportation have made the Manila Rivercity Residences a prime location for young professionals like Vincent.
“I really believe in this property,†shares Vincent Larang. “I can say that it was worth it, purchasing this place and as you can see, I enjoy what I am getting right now. I have my own place, I am single...I think at the end of the day that’s what you really want, yung what you earn every pay, may napupuntahan, it’s getting to something.â€
