MANILA, Philippines - This October, the first issue of Elle Decoration Philippines will be launched by Summit Media, the largest magazine publishing company in the country.

Summit Media is also the publisher of successful titles for the home and home design such as Real Living and Good Housekeeping Philippines.

It’s safe to say that in our crowded world today — with the world population hitting seven billion — space is the ultimate luxury. What we do with the space we are given in this world becomes more personal and as precious as ever.

French connection

The visionary founder Jean Demachy understood this when he founded Elle Decoration in France in 1987. He understood that luxury was not about money but making the most of the gifts of nature and the minds of the greatest creative thinkers in the world.

“Like fashion, decoration is an expression of femininity and lifestyle which combines dreams with reality,”said Demachy.

He understood that the truly privileged lived in homes that were created with good taste, akin to museums of personal style. The pages of Elle Decoration aren’t about excess, but about access to every object of desire imaginable. Over time, he made Elle Decoration the design bible of French society. Building on the values of femininity, luxury and inspiration, the Elle Decoration brand soon influenced the way people saw space and daily living. It has basically redefined the definition of the good life.

Today, with 25 editions and over nine million readers, the title is the best-selling luxury shelter magazine in world. It has trumped many of the other luxury home titles such as Architectural Digest and House and Garden. As the interiors spin off of global women’s fashion title Elle, Elle Decoration is the only global shelter magazine with a fashion heritage and a truly international perspective.

The rise of filipino decoration

The Philippine edition of Elle Decoration will be launched in October, published through a partnership between Summit Media and Lagardére Active of France.

Featuring homes in the Philippines and around the world, Elle Decoration Philippines will be a beautiful and inspiring title, a show-and-tell of well-designed homes that express the personality and dreams of affluent Filipinos. After all, the home speaks of one’s passions, obsessions, pleasures, style. Elle Decoration Philippines will feature glamorous houses, elegant furnishings, brilliant designers, cool objects, and must-see decoration. Each issue will be filled with lush images and clever ideas for the home, delighting readers with information and advice on how to turn their interior dreams into reality.

In this world, beautiful is not only better, it’s the only way. This is the Elle Decoration way.

Elle Decoration will be available in upscale bookstores, newsstands, and specialty retailers in Metro Manila and key provincial cites for P200.
