MANILA, Philippines - It was truly a fun-filled day full of awesome vintage finds and good buys as collectors and enthusiasts trooped to Laguna last September 11 at the Solenad 1 Activity Center in Nuvali, Santa Rosa Laguna, where pre-loved, brand-new, mint condition, rare, and collector’s items ranging from toys, to books, furniture, cameras, and more brought tears of joy to the eyes of vintage lovers and collectors. The items on sale had an allure of unfading cool and flair that never goes out of style and in continuing with their theme of sustainability, Nuvali’s Collecticon was a day of buying and swapping awesome vintage goodies as a way of reusing and recycling them, instead of buying new items and throwing things away. It would truly be a shame to let timeless items go to waste; items with the power to rekindle and relive heartfelt memories from yesteryear.
“It brings back good memories. One good thing is that when people see it, you put a smile on your face,” said one vendor during the event.
Another attendee said, “There are toys here that I haven’t seen since I was a kid and when I saw them, I just became teary-eyed, I was overwhelmed. It was just really nice seeing such items — childhood memories just started playing in my head.”
The day also featured an exciting auction, allowing collectors to bid for rare items. Also held on the same day were talks on the art of restoration, as well as exhibits and displays of rare items that no doubt brought a sense of nostalgia to those who attended the event.
Nuvali’s Collecticon was truly a vintage lover’s paradise, a day full of good finds and rare buys that no doubt brought smiles and rekindled happy memories.
