MANILA, Philippines - In this enchanted retreat where four winds meet, nights are unmistakably growing colder, longer, and with the thousands of pine trees, certainly much sweeter. The seasons are changing and nowhere else can it be felt the most than at Brittany’s CrossWinds. In this haven for Manila’s urban warriors, the thick Tagaytay fog gently blanketing the rolling terrain heralds the arrival of the holiday season. Indeed, Christmas comes first to CrossWinds.
Exactly three months before Christmas, CrossWinds has thrown its doors open to welcome the holidays. The celebration began with a motorcade with Santa’s sleigh taking lead. Upon entering the ornate gates of Crosswinds, guests were serenaded by the angelic voices of the Las Piñas Boys Choir. The Christmas carols were made more festive with snow machines filling the air with white flakes. The cool Tagaytay climate made the special treat the perfect Christmas moment.
Guests then moved on to the Christmas Store to catch the first glimpse of this season’s exciting holiday offerings. Open every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with Christmas lights display from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. everyday until Jan. 16, 2011, the quaint green and red shop offers a variety of Christmas decor, homeware, and ornaments that are unique to the store.
Apart from the sweet scent of pine, the aroma of traditional Filipino Christmas treats also perfumed the air. Guests were treated to hot chocolate, puto bumbong and bibingka, which they nibbled on while watching the sky explode with color and lights from the beautifully designed fireworks.
The event was attended by Vista Land CEO Jing Serrano, Brittany COO Camille Villar and marketing head Nova Noval who joined CrossWinds’ residents with their families and friends in making this early Christmas welcome a meaningful and joyful gathering of loved ones.
“It is very hard not to think of Christmas the moment you enter CrossWinds. The architecture, the altitude, the terrain and the pine trees all come together and evoke the most festive season in the calendar,” says Villar.
CrossWinds is a 100-hectare community inspired by Swiss architecture. Swiss chalets with interiors designed around the great room concept, ornate balconies overlooking the terrain, and images of a roaring fire keeping families warm in the cold season all contributed to the design and masterplan of this haven.
Since it broke ground, this sprawling property with Swiss chalets and over 20,000 pine trees has been the true home of Christmas with its many unique events year after year drawing revelers to join the celebrations. The event is but a preview for many more holiday activities in CrossWinds, such as the much-awaited launch of the Christmas Village inside the development today, Nov. 13. The centerpiece of the Christmas Village will be a gingerbread house filled with toys, while kids and kids at heart can also have their pictures taken with Santa every Sunday until Christmas.
“There is so much more to watch out for at CrossWinds,” adds Villar. “This launch is only a sneak peek at how Brittany will be celebrating the holidays. Events, amenities, and many wonderful treats are going to be unveiled as the special day draws near. Christmas starts at CrossWinds. And at CrossWinds, it’s Christmas ever after.”
