MANILA, Philippines - The Zonta Club of Makati and Environs Foundation Inc. and Woman Today magazine will be holding what could probably be the biggest pre-holiday bazaar in the country.
Dubbed “Pasko sa Agosto,” the two-day event will be held at the Rockwell Tent, Rockwell Center, Makati City on Aug. 14 and 15 (Saturday and Sunday), from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. It’s expected to gather under one roof more than 100 booths laden with an array of hard-to-resist items that would surely make for the best Christmas gifts.
Among the finds at the bazaar are home and kitchen appliances, fashionable clothes, home and Christmas décor, fashion jewelry, books, magazines, and novelty items that are truly irresistible. Skin and body care services and products — perfect for pampering one’s self before the start of the holidays — will also be available. For the foodie, booths selling food gifts as well as ready-to-eat treats will also be present.
A special show featuring guest entertainers will be held, interspersed with informative talks by guest speakers discussing a range of subjects. Food demos by chefs and culinary experts will also be held. Raffle prizes will be given to lucky guests from time to time. The RFM Corporation and chef Jessie Sincioco will hold demos. To add a cosmopolitan touch, the consul general of Jamaica will prepare some uniquely Jamaican dishes perfect for the holidays.
“The proceeds the bazaar will raise will help us fund most of our projects for the coming year,” says Alice Guerrero, the chair of the committee handling the event. She adds that some of the funds will be earmarked for running women’s shelters and livelihood projects that Zonta Club of Makati and Environs Foundation Inc. have been known for.
