Design of the times

MANILA, Philippines - PTR Properties Inc., a company that has made its name in the midrise condominium category, works alongside Tygra Design to create the look of their various condominium projects. The group is in charge of creating design structures that complement not only the lifestyle of its residents, but also the location of their projects, all of which can be found in barangay Kapitolyo in Pasig, considered the city’s most peaceful and progressive residential suburb.

Each midrise condominium of PTR Properties was conceptualized to be a highly efficient space, such as Grand 21 Place and The Fifth at Rafael. For One Capitol and The TwoSeven Residences, the intent was to provide accommodations that appeal on a more personal level to the owner. Units are delivered with the intent of inspiring owners to design their homes according to their own needs and style.

When it comes to the look of the building, the structures are considered modern but still blend well with the laidback background of Kapitolyo.

Grand 21 Place makes use of clean, modern lines and simple color accents to achieve the completed look. Subtle integration of wood materials and screen elements used particularly on the penthouse level give the design a touch of local flavor. The Fifth at Rafael features a simple play of surfaces on the façade to give the building a distinguished and elegant look. One Capitol is directed to address the individual aspirations of residents with a layout that allows for personal preference.

The main feature of the units is the sitting window, generous and panoramic, to provide a special area attuned to the sense of home that everyone needs. The sitting windows are framed by sunshades. Connecting line surface elements join the vertical relationships between the windows, emphasizing a downward trickling fluidity from the top to lower units. This illusion gives the building angled folds on the side.

“More than the design, people opting to buy a home should always consider other important factors such as location and a sense of community,” said Peter Ty, PTR Properties chairman and CEO. “The design makes the building a venue, an attraction, a marker on the map.”
