South Forbes wins best development award

MANILA, Philippines - South Forbes Golf City, recipient of the CNBC International Property Awards, the world’s most prestigious property awards program, for Best Golf Community Development, recently received the award for Best Development in the Philippines by the 2010 Asia Pacific Residential Property Awards in association with Bloomberg Television.

The largest fully integrated and all-themed golf resort city at the heart of the Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay corridor, South Forbes is giving people many choices for living in sustainable, convenient and enjoyable places.

It created walkable districts and public spaces to bring people together and foster community pride. The City Center, which can be reached via landscaped pedestrian pathways from every themed village around it, is the commercial hub of the whole city with a range of food and beverage, retail, and entertainment establishments. A variety of activities surround a lagoon that serves as the focal point of the complex. Outdoor activities will be the main thrust here.

Resort-themed enclaves like Phuket Mansions offers model homes that will pamper every resident’s desire to renew and rejuvenate. The spa-inspired Ayutthaya, Chakri, and Taksin Mansions feature an outdoor pool against a backdrop of tropical plants where one can take a dip after a long day at work.

Trees alter the environment in which we live. Temperature in the vicinity of trees is cooler than away from trees. Leaves filter the air we breathe by removing dust and other particulates. Hospital patients have been shown to recover from surgery more quickly when their hospital room offered a view of trees. Direct economic benefits are usually associated with energy costs as air-conditioning costs are lower in a tree-shaded home.

The Châteaux de Paris district is themed around gardens and groves of trees. One garden, L’Orangerie, will be an orchard of our native dayap. Harvest season will surely be a great community event.

South Forbes also has a world-class 18-hole golf course creatively integrated within 50 hectares of hills and forests.
