A myriad of flavors await this June as the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu (MPPC), the only five-star hotel in Cebu City led by hardworking general manager Hans Hauri, invites everyone to experience its one-of-a-kind offerings at the award-winning Café Marco. On June 20, have a special Father’s Day celebration as you bond with your entire family over a delectable buffet of Japanese, Western and Asian cuisines as well as Pinoy classic favorites by returning celebrity guest chefs – Gene and Gino Gonzalez. From June 20 to 26, savor the flavors of home with the “Pinoy-Pinoy Food Festival,” featuring masterful Filipino creations from the brilliant father and son duo. Bringing the distinct Pinoy taste to the international arena, MPPC recently participated in the 1st Philippine Food Festival in Swissôtel Zurich, Switzerland. Its world-class culinary team represented the country in Switzerland to highlight the flavors of the Philippines.
The good life with Minerva
Spreading positive energy is a must for Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines (FCCP) immediate past president Minerva Tanseco, who has a penchant for good times and great family and friendship. With that, Minerva and her family embarked on a road trip to Laguna for a gourmet picnic in the grand Moroccan rest house of award-winning designer-owner of De Caprichio Jewelers Benjo Bautista. It was wonderful to see the family enjoying the scenery and the lip-smacking food. I then had the chance to join the fun-loving lady when she recently went on a summer escapade with her closest friends to Doña Nena Beach Resort in Laiya, Batangas. For more precious moments, your columnist joined Minerva with her Assumption clique to celebrate the birthday of Sonia Recto Lopez at Serendra. It was also a fine time with the classy lady at the exquisite Prince Albert of the Intercontinental Hotel where great food and friends made the evening extra remarkable. With Minerva’s love for music and being a loyal patron of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), she accepted the invitation of CCP artistic director dean Raul Sunico for the gala season’s end concert of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, which she enjoyed immensely with her friends. Even with all the hustle and bustle of the election season, the affable friend of many still found some time to relax with Senator Manny Villar at the Spiral of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.
