MANILA, Philippines - Top lighting, electrical and energy products provider Akari recently wowed visitors when it launched its world-class innovations in lighting solutions at the 15th Philippine World Building and Construction Exposition (WORLDBEX) at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
Akari joined more than 800 exhibitors from 20 countries from the building, construction, interior design, mechanical and electrical engineering, information technology, telecommunications, real estate, and housing industries at Asia’s biggest and most-attended building and construction exposition, which will showcase the latest topnotch products and services for the building and construction industry.
In keeping with the expo’s theme, “Constructing the Future Green Communities through Efficient Technologies and Materials,” Akari presented “The Future in LED,” an exhibit of the latest innovative LED-based lighting solutions that help save the environment while helping consumers save big on electrical costs.
“As an industry pioneer in the lighting solutions, Akari has always been at the forefront of technology to provide consumers with world-class, high-quality lighting products,” said Carter Tiu, vice president for sales and project. “Alongside our commitment to our consumers is also our social responsibility to make the world a better place. So we’re bringing these breakthrough LED or light-emitting diode lighting solutions not only to address the growing market needs and demands, but also as our contribution to helping conserve energy.”
LED lamps are solid-state lamps that use light-emitting diodes as the source of light. Since the light output of individual light-emitting diodes is small compared to incandescent and compact fluorescent lamps, multiple diodes are used together that emit light in a very small bond of wavelengths, producing strongly colored light. Used for both general lighting and special-purpose lighting, LED lamps have no glass tubes to break, and their internal parts are rigidly supported, making them resistant to vibration and impact. They contain no mercury and have no minimum current needed to sustain lamp operation. Most of all, they are expected to last 25 to 30 years under normal use and will not dim over time while saving in energy and maintenance costs.
“LED lights’ dependability and durability have been tested in the market in the most extreme of market conditions. They can be used in varied conditions — either in tropical forests or in sub-zero temperatures, in dry or wet environments. LED lights have proven their worth in terms of brightness and efficiency in power supply-controlled situations,” added Tiu.
Akari unveiled new LED products and outdoor lighting such as the Accent Radar MR16 Lamp, Superstar MR16 Lamp, Round 150 Downlight, Array, Rocket Par 30 Reflector Lamp, and Tube.
Array LED lights provide greater variance for different lighting tasks compared to traditional incandescent. The Rocket Par 30 Reflector Lamp gives a superior energy-saving solution as it offers a long life span. Tube LED Fixtures breaks all traditional molds in lighting systems as it has up to double the lifespan of a traditional fluorescent tube with the added benefit of containing no harmful mercury.
AKARI presented two new LED floodlights: 12-LED lamp floodlight with lens which magnifies and widens the light beam; and the 28-LED lamp floodlight, which has mirror reflectors and an expected life of 35,000 hours. It also features other lines such as rechargeable lanterns, emergency lights, exhaust fans, switches and wiring devices.
Akari is an industry pioneer in the lighting solutions market with over 40 years of experience in providing high-quality, world-class and energy-efficient lighting, electrical and energy products to homes and commercial establishments.
