MANILA, Philippines – Alex Pajaro, daughter of fashion designer Judith Pajaro and Rodolfo Pajaro, evoked the spirit of Bollywood for her recent Indian-themed 18th birthday party.
“I wanted something different,” said Alex when asked what inspired the fete’s motif. Being a dancer herself was also a contributing factor, but she added another twist to her party by using hip-hop tracks instead of the typical songs during the program.
Alex chose Rockwell Tent as venue due to its resemblance with the famous Indian landmark — the Taj Mahal.
The party was attended by more than 300 of her close friends and relatives. She had four wardrobe changes, two long gowns and two cocktail dresses, all of which were lovingly designed by her mom Judith.
Now that Alex is a certified adult, she says she is not afraid to take on more responsibilities. What she is very excited about, aside from getting her own driver’s license, is to learn the ropes of the fashion industry so that she can someday follow in the footsteps of her mom. She is also excited to vote for the first time in the upcoming elections in 2010.
Guests seen at the lavish debut included her high school friends Patricia Deluria, Arielle Escalona, Trixie Cruz, Ria Atayde, Fel Sison, and Clara Puyat. Also spotted were Edna Sta. Cruz, Beth Fernando, Gigi Trinidad, Milo Bondoc, and Valerie Sy, who are good friends of her mom.
