MANILA, Philippines – Last May 16 and 17 at Bonifacio High Street, kids were treated to several cooking demos on pasta and pizza by Margarita Fores and bag-making/fashion sketching by Amina Aranaz-Alunan on the first weekend of Kids Camp.
Part of the Bonifacio Global City Passionfest, Kids Camp is holding summer workshops for kids of all ages for two consecutive weekends this May.
Margarita Fores easily caught the kids’ attention and whetted their appetites as she showed them how to do these Italian favorites: bruschetta, spaghettini a la primavera, and pizza ovale — the latter being the favorite activity since the kids had to garnish their own pizza crusts.
The following day was equally enjoyable and exciting as Amina Aranaz-Alunan supervised the children in a hands-on experience on fashion sketching and how to make and embellish bags. Kids were provided with kits and other raw materials like beads and sequins.
The next set of workshops for Kids Camp will be held today, Tie-dye and Yo-yo demonstrations at 4 p.m. by Hobbes and Landes, and tomorrow at 4 p.m. Other activities to keep the little ones busy are the cooking demonstration on how to prepare kid-friendly dishes by The Stock Market, and the Carton Craft art workshop by Tetra Pak. Kids are encouraged to bring their own materials for the Carton Craft workshop, which aims to instill recycling at a young age.
