A treasure of watches

Eight of the world’s top luxury watchmakers set the stage for the biggest horological event in the Philippines dubbed “Treasures: The Art of Time,” the simultaneous unveiling of their brand boutiques on Nov. 26 to 30 at the Greenbelt 5 Mall.

The event will be a celebration of the artistry and cutting-edge innovation of top luxury watchmakers Audemars Piguet, Breitling, Chopard, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Omega, Panerai, and Patek Philippe as they simultaneously launch their brand boutiques in the country, each reflecting a brand’s distinct character and promising to offer a level of expertise a one-brand-boutique can provide.

“For some people, watches are not merely devices that tell time, they are objects of art that span generations, and that they deserve to be celebrated for their creativity and beauty. ‘Treasures: The Art of Time’ promises to be a feast for the senses and an immersion into the culture of watchmaking and appreciation,” said Emerson Yao, managing director of Lucerne Jewellers, the exclusive distributor of the luxury watch brands in the country.

The first of its kind in the country to gather Filipino watch aficionados, Treasures is patterned after the much-anticipated Baselworld and the Salon Internationale Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) events held every year in Basel and Geneva, Switzerland.

Here, watch aficionados will have the chance to meet up with fellow enthusiasts and see the 2008 Baselworld and SIHH watch novelties in an exhibit. They will also have the rare opportunity to meet brand executives and experts who were the brains behind the innovative creation and effective marketing of prestigious watch brands.

Each specialty shop is meticulously designed, with furniture and decorations that mirror each brand’s identity and culture. Captivate your senses, celebrate your passion for watches, and discover and rediscover the art of time in “Treasures: The Art of Time.”
