FUNDAY GLOBALYMPICS

Last July 28,  AJMA had its Funday, entitled Globalympics - a day full of fun, a day of racing through the vast area of Ateneo, and a day of exposure to various cultural games.

An event usually held in July or August right after AJMA’s 1st GA, the Funday is an HR event which aims to bring AJMA members closer to one another through fun activities, to foster ties among members from different departments, and of course,  to allow  members to experience the fun side of the prestigious marketing organization. This year’s Funday was headed by HR AVP Jennina Mariano, COMM AVP Karla Lim and AJMA FORCE Krizia Syquiatco. The event was comprised of non-conventional games from all around the world. This included games from China, Thailand, Japan, United Kingdom, Zambria, Korea, France, Malaysia and others. Games such as Sudoku, Mastermind, Chopsticks, Kimchi-eating, Web crossing, and Football decorated the event with such excitement one cannot just look away from.

That Saturday afternoon at 1pm, the members and the executive board of the organization gathered in the SEC walkway for the briefing of the event. They were assigned into groups and given a set of clues they had to solve. The answers to the clues were countries which they had to match as they raced to the different venues all around Ateneo. Upon arrival on the venue, the teams we asked to answer an AJMA question before playing the game. The first group to accomplish all 10 tasks before 4:30 p.m. wins.

To the Funday team’s surprise, in less than two hours the first group arrived, accomplishing all the exciting tasks of the event. It was an all-girl group comprised of EVENTS AVPs Cheska Gesmundo and Pam Solilapsi, and AJMA Force Issa Diomampo. Following in less than five minutes was an all-boy group, CORREL AVP Sonnie Guerrero, AJMA Force EJohn and Kiko Dans. After 20 minutes, the third group made up of Mon Gelvezon, Ysa Rufino and Chris arrived.

AJMA President Queen Alandy Dy brought some delectable snacks for the whole bunch of hungry and tired participants, volunteers and the Funday team. In the awarding ceremony, several prizes care of the CORREL Department were given to the deserving winners, which included Eaji chips, Eastwood Cinema tickets, candies, Lee shirts, and others. Creative and attention-grabbing promotional videos and digital media were provided by talented promotion heads, AJMA FORCE Francis Tan and COMM AVP Carlos Cabanlig. Coca-cola Company provided Royal for the drinks during the whole event. The event ended at around 4 p.m.

The Funday was indeed a vibrant and exciting event. Looking forward to the next few years, AJMA will definitely have more fun days to come that will bring AJMAns closer to one another.
