LINE Play advances in Phl mobile messaging

MANILA, Philippines – LINE Play, the latest offering of global messaging app Line, is gaining ground in the mobile messaging space in the Philippines.

Line Play allows users to personalize avatars and create virtual spaces while making free voice calls, exchanging messages, and using a host of Line’s exclusive features.

Gathering over 6 million new members immediately after its global launch, LINE Play recently rankied No. 1 in Top Free Apps chart in countries such as Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Hyun-bin Kang, director of LINE Business Office at NHN Corporation, recalled that when the company officially launched LINE in the Philippines last February, they assured to constantly innovate to make mobile messaging a more fun, personal, and interactive experience for Filipinos.

"Through LINE Play, we take digital communications beyond words on a screen to add a new dimension to LINE’s smartphone life platform," Kang said. "LINE Play is just one of the many fun and exciting services that we intend to offer here in the Philippines."

LINE Play avatars can be created in a variety of ways. First, users can use their own headshot to create an avatar that closely resembles them, or select from a wide range of facial features.

In LINE Play’s virtual world, users can style their avatars and decorate personal space as well. More than 200 new fashion and interior items are updated every week, including local and seasonal themed items such as traditional costumes and Christmas decorations.

In expanding a friend network with LINE Play, users can engage in one on one chats with their friends using new Action Stickers which make avatars become more animated and lifelike.

Avatars can jump, laugh, wave and much more with the 18 different Action Stickers. With Lounge Chat, users can talk about music, games, sports, and movies with those who have similar interests.
