Breathe right for better health

MANILA, Philippines - Asthma affects some 235 million people all over the world and is the most common chronic disease among children, according to the Global Asthma Report 2011, a collaborative study between the International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood (ISAAC) and International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union).

In the Philippines, however, many Filipino families have found a safe, drug-free, and immediate relief from asthma through the Buteyko Method.

“Our modern lifestyle guarantees some degree of dysfunctional breathing, specifically over-breathing or hyperventilation, which is a root cause of asthma and other respiratory problems,” says Jac Vidgen, an Australian senior Buteyko practitioner with 19 years of experience in teaching the method in the Philippines and other parts of the world.
