Dr. Smile opens second branch at SM North Edsa

MANILA, Philippines - Dr. Smile recently opened its newest dental center at the lower ground floor of the SM City North Edsa Annex.

Felicidad Sy was the guest of honor at the ribbon- cutting ceremony, with National University president Teodoro Ocampo, Dr. Smile president and CEO Dr. Joseph Lim, VP for operations Dr. Ben Racela, Waterlase Care International president Joaquin Co, and Asia Pacific World Clinical Laser Institute director Edmond Choi joining her. An earlier blessing ceremony was presided by Fr. Dave Concepcion.

Like its first center at The Podium, this branch has spacious treatment rooms with world-class Ritter dental chairs made by the venerable 126-year-old German company. It also has state-of-the-art facilities like a CT Scan from a Samsung subsidiary and a Digital X-Ray machine from Japan.

For patients that need more dental care, there are precision surgical and implant instruments from Germany, and a high-tech operating room with a LED operating light and camera from France. Autoclaves from the Prestige Medical of England assure you that everything Dr. Smile uses is 100-percent sterilized.

To date, Dr. Smile remains the only dental center in the Philippines that uses the Waterlase MD Turbo — the most advanced, and incidentally also the most expensive, dental laser in the world made by Biolase, USA. This all-tissue laser can cut through hard and soft tissues, rendering many dental procedures painless and reducing the fear and anxiety of going to the dentist — something all patients will surely appreciate.

The new center is intended for customers’ convenience and comfort, especially for Quezon City residents. Like its first center at The Podium, the Dr. Smile Laser and Dental Center at North Edsa has the same world-class, state-of-the-art equipment, and cutting-edge technology.

A highly trained staff of 50, which includes 30 specialists from the best schools here and abroad, is committed to serving customers with the highest standards of excellence that they have come to expect from Dr. Smile. The second Dr. Smile center also has a compact dental laboratory and other outstanding water and air facilities to ensure that all is clean and healthy for patients. It has air compressors made by the famous Metasys Company of Austria while its water treatment plant installed by Water Care comes complete with a water softener, UV light, and a series of filtration systems at par with water that customers buy commercially by the gallons.

To show its concern for the environment, Dr. Smile has gone green. It uses disposable bibs, hand towels, syringes, needles, impression tips, among others to prevent cross contamination and cross infection. More than that, it does not do any amalgam mercury fillings, instead using only composite and glasionomer fillings using materials from such respected companies as 3M, Espe, and Dentsply. Patients with old amalgam fillings can have these removed with amalgam separators, which can only be found at Dr. Smile Laser and Dental Care Centers.

Dr. Smile Dental Care Center is at the lower ground floor, Annex at SM City North Edsa. For inquiries, call 921-69-13 / 921-68-83, e-mail inquiry@drsmile.com.ph or visit www.drsmile.com.ph. Clinic hours: Monday to Thursday and Sunday, 10 a.m.–9 p.m., and Friday, Saturday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
