MANILA, Philippines - For the second year in a row, Dr. Maria Regina L. Reyes, a Filipino physician practicing in Seattle, Washington, USA, was chosen one of the best doctors by Seattle nagazine in its 2011 annual search for the “Best Docs in Seattle.”
Dr. Reyes was chosen following an extensive survey that searched for the finest physicians in the Seattle area, as chosen by their peers. She was cited for her expertise in the medical rehabilitation of patients with spinal cord injury and brain trauma. She is a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and is on the faculty of the University of Washington Medical School and the medical staff of the University Hospital and the Harborview Medical Center, the designated trauma center for the whole Pacific Northwest region.
Dr. Reyes finished her high school at Maryknoll College in the Philippines. She is a graduate of Haverford College in Philadelphia and the Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
She is married to another physician, Dr. Paul Nutter, and is the daughter of Dr. Tyrone M. Reyes, The Philippine STAR’s health columnist, and Dr. Ofelia L. Reyes, chairperson of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of the Cardinal Santos Medical Center.
