MANILA, Philippines - Christmas came early for select online Tang members and children of the Virlanie Foundation as they had a fun-filled day last Dec. 11, playing games together and making new friends at the first Tang Agents’ Christmas Playathon.
Through the event, Tang, one of the leading brands of Kraft Foods, proved that kids have the power to make a difference.
“Kraft Foods Philippines has always played an active part in community building,” says Geline Chua Caedo, assistant brand manager of Tang. “The partnership with Virlanie Foundation is in line with Tang’s vision of empowering children. We wanted to have an event that taught kids that they could also make a difference in their own little way.”
Tang’s online kid members — called Tang Agents — were paired with the children from the Virlanie Foundation, and each pair worked together through exciting “FruiTraining” levels for a chance to win a shopping spree from Toy Kingdom worth as much as P100,000.
Tang’s partner organization, the Virlanie Foundation, is a non-government organization that cares for street children. With the help of its dedicated staff and its network of donors and sponsors, the Virlanie Foundation has helped over 12,000 children become responsible and self-sufficient adults.
“We are thankful to Tang for choosing us to be their partner and beneficiary for their Christmas Playathon,” says Maren Avrille Pascual, communications associate of Virlanie. “It’s nice to see the children smiling and having fun. We hope that the partnership of Virlanie with Tang will blossom and we look forward to having more projects with them.”
Tang Agent Kirk Patrick Del Carmen and Berlyn Igot-Igot from Virlanie Foundation jointly won the Tang Christmas Playathon and a shopping spree at Toy Kingdom worth P100,000. But everyone was a winner. Eliminated pairs were given P500 gift certificates from Toy Kingdom, which they used after the event
