One has to find time. One has to treat the person as a complete human being — not as a disease or as an ailing organ alone. My cardiologist mother still chides us when we grumble over the lengthy time she takes with her patients. “Healing entails more than treating the illness,” she explains. To be an effective healer, one has to spend time and establish some rapport with the patient. Genuine wellness can only be achieved if mind, body, and spirit work together in harmony.
Certainly, we want to attain total wellness. But as we go through the rat race, where we juggle endless tasks to fit our busy schedules, it is easy to find numerous excuses to indulge in unhealthy food choices or acquire sedentary habits. And thus, seeing that urban dwellers spend much of their time in the malls, it is timely that the Nesvita Wellness Tour is being held in shopping malls throughout the country to remind us to make healthier choices.
Nesvita has a wide range of adult health products. These include Nesvita Cereal Milk Drink, a combination of wheat and milk filled with calcium and fiber for a healthy breakfast; Nesvita Pro-Digestion, a unique blend of soluble dietary fiber with calcium and antioxidants that helps cleanse the digestive system; Nesvita Pro-Bone Protection, a high-calcium non-fat milk with Calci-Lock that helps lock calcium in your bones to keep them healthy; and Nesvita Pro-Weight Management, a non-fat milk for a fitter, healthier body.
More than promoting Nesvita products, however, the wellness tour features booths where one can have his/her blood pressure checked; get expert advice from nutritionists on ways to achieve ideal weight, or get soothing massages after a hectic day of shopping.
Recognizing that looking good is vital to feeling good, Nesvita has also partnered with Fitness First, Bioessence, Nature Spa, Spa Essentials, and Professional Artists Makeup, where one can avail himself/herself of a mini make-over to achieve a perky, new look. Furthermore, Jobstreet.com can help jobseekers find fulfilling work to maximize their unique potentials. And truly, Nesvita has tried to address varied concerns pertaining to physical and emotional well-being.
“Nesvita’s goal is to help people achieve health and physical wellness through a holistic approach — targeting not only a healthy body, but also a sound mind and stable emotional health,” says Trina Abola, Nesvita consumer marketing team leader.
The Nesvita Wellness Tour is part of the “Choose Wellness, Choose Nestle” campaign, an advocacy effort aimed at building awareness on health achieved through proper nutrition and physical activity.
Model, jewelry designer and fashion icon Tweetie de Leon- Gonzales will grace the Nesvita Adult Wellness Tour, a six-month campaign to promote the importance of health and wellness in select malls in key cities. As Nestle Wellness advocate, the slim, tanned and fit mother of four leads an active life. She plays squash, does abdominal exercises and yoga.
Tweetie says that her children are learning the importance of a healthy lifestyle by example. “It’s not very difficult for my kids to be active because it’s what they see in their parents. My husband loves playing basketball and is an avid gym-goer. As a family, we love to play badminton which we do as much as we can.”
For this career mom, promoting wellness is not a task. “I may not be the ultimate health buff,” she smiles, revealing that she sometimes succumbs to the lure of rich desserts, “but the desire to help inspire others achieve a healthier lifestyle is there. I do my share in balancing nutrition and physical activity.”
Likewise, Tweetie believes that wellness involves a lot of factors — physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well- being. “Not very many people know it, but my husband and I are very prayerful people. It helps a lot,” she reveals.
