Davao has one of world's best dark drinking chocolates

MANILA, Philippines — Looking for a hot chocolate to comfort you on rainy days? Look no further, because the world's best drinking chocolate is right here in the Philippines.

Following their triumph at the 2015 Academy of Chocolate Awards in London early this year, Davao's Malagos chocolate was once again hailed as one of the best drinking chocolates in the world at the 2015 International Chocolate Awards World Drinking Chocolate Competition in Germany.

Malagos Chocolate’s single-origin, 65-percent dark chocolate bested other entries around the world in winning silver in the dark drinking chocolate (made with milk) category last October 9.

Also included in this year's competition is category for chocolate drinks with alcohol.

According to Malagos website, the competition was judged live at the Schokolade Gourmet Festival in Hannover from September 11 to 13, using a specially developed judging system, created after international trials and consultation with independent experts around the world.

The International Chocolate Awards is the world’s only fully independent international fine chocolate competition. It aims to help the markets grow and support the farmers that grow fine cacao.
