The enigmatic Ramon Ang in 'Esquire'

MANILA, Philippines - The September issue of Esquire Philippines themed as the Travel Issue takes on a distinctive slant as it is not so much on destinations, but rather the experience of getting there, wherever that is.

Esquire Philippines editor-in-chief Erwin Romulo elaborates in his editorial note the essence of this month’s theme. Erwin writes, “You must give yourself fully to the experience, take the long road, so to speak – and not always with any particular destination in mind. You must allow yourself to wander. In fact, you should make it a point to get lost.”

Found in this issue of Esquire is a guide to the best places on earth and a manual to a stylish life, complete with the skills, tips, and knowledge every man needs to look and be at his best when you’re out to see the world. Plus, Esquire Philippines’ food and drinks editor Erwan Heussaff also pens an article on how to drink like you know what you’re doing in five of the world’s best cities in the world – Paris, London, Bangkok, New York, and Hong Kong.

Esquire’s contributing editor Celine Lopez invites us to go deeper into what makes Amanpulo a really special place, beyond its celebrity-soaked shores. She writes, “Everything in this well-groomed island just works. The neon blue water, the blinding white sand, the coral dappled sunsets, the long sunny days and the cool evenings all make any honeymoon or family trip memorable.”

Headlining this month’s issue is one of the country’s most well-known yet enigmatic businessmen and president of San Miguel Corporation Ramon Ang as he talks about amassing wealth, managing people, and expanding the business without fear.

The September issue of Esquire Philippines is available in newsstands and bookstores nationwide for P195.
